About competition groups
Elevate competition groups are created as a space for artistic and personal growth for those students who want to take a step further in their training.
Being part of a competition group means working on dance from a place of discipline, consistency, and commitment, going deeper into the creative process and technical development through a choreography that is worked on throughout the entire course.
These groups allow dancers to practically apply everything learned in class: technique, musicality, interpretation, stage presence, and teamwork. Through the rehearsal process, special focus is placed on movement cleanliness, precision, group awareness, and the construction of a collective identity on stage.
In addition, competition groups offer dancers the opportunity to perform on stage, share dance with other artists, and experience the stage in a deeper way.
The objective is not only to compete, but to continue growing as dancers and as a group, learning to sustain a demanding and enriching artistic process.
The main values of Elevate competition groups are:
- Commitment
- Dedication
- Discipline
- Consistency
- Teamwork
In addition, all members of an Elevate competition group, both Concept and Essence, have the opportunity to receive exclusive training designed specifically for them, where work will be carried out in an intense and professional way, offering many tools that will help them train more intensively and prepare even further for competitions. This training will be taught by Andrea Sala and other teachers who will rotate in order to further complement the training.
*Attendance to the competition training is mandatory.
*You can be part of both competition groups.
Commitment and permanence
To be part of one of Elevate’s competition groups, it is mandatory to pass a prior audition.
Being part of a competition group implies a commitment to remain for the duration of the course.
To guarantee group stability and competition organization, a permanence deposit of €100 is required at the time of registration (one-time payment). This deposit:
- is not refundable in case of leaving the group
- is later used to cover competition registrations
In case the total cost of registrations exceeds this amount, dancers will have to pay the remaining difference.
It is possible that once the competition groups are registered, depending on the number of competitions or their cost, an additional payment may be required if the total amount exceeds €100 (only the exact difference would be paid).
If registrations do not reach €100, the remaining amount will be used to cover part of the competition costume.
This measure allows competition participation to be organized responsibly and ensures the commitment of all group members.
Milana Khil
I’ve been coming to the classes since November and I love them!! I’ve learned a lot of tricks and Andrea explains things very well and tries to be there for all the students, answering questions, correcting mistakes and helping.
Rossmary Alfaro
After my first class with Andrea, I felt I could learn so much, and I feel so comfortable with the atmosphere, the energy, and everything I’ve learned that one class a week isn’t enough for me.
Mariona
The classes are the best way to end the week. A safe and trusting environment is created. You learn a lot with each choreography, each one has different tricks and you work a lot on musicality. The classes are well organized and Andrea always gives options according to your level.
Things to keep in mind
Additional expenses
To attend the championships, in addition to the monthly competition fee, you must pay a registration fee per person per championship, as well as the cost of clothing and competition uniforms. Registration fees will be covered by the initial deposit each group member paid at the beginning of the season. However, please note that if the total deposit exceeds €100, you may need to pay additional fees when registering for all championships.
*Clothing can cost between €20 and €90 per person, and the total registration fees for all championships you attend can range from €100 to €150, depending on the number and type of competitions.
Displacements
Some competitions may be outside of Barcelona, and you have to take into account travel expenses, meals and sometimes possible accommodation.
Availability and flexibility
It is important to know that the competitions are on weekends and normally start in March, therefore during March, April, May and June, you need to have a lot of availability and flexibility with the schedules and time on weekends.
Commitment
If you fail to attend all rehearsals (except in cases of illness or serious injury), if you do not meet the required level for the group and/or choreography, if you miss one or more competitions, and especially if you fail to pay your monthly dues on time and/or have multiple missed payments or irregularities in payments, the management reserves the absolute right to expel anyone who does not comply with the aforementioned conditions.
In the event of expulsion from a group, no monthly dues will be refunded.
Guarantee
The deposit is refunded if you are expelled from a group, unless the reason for expulsion is related to some irregularity and/or failure to pay.
