Level

Beginner / Intermediate

Contemporary Advanced Beginner classes are designed as a bridge between beginner and intermediate level. They are aimed at people who have already had a first contact with contemporary dance, for example after completing an Absolute Beginner training, and who want to continue developing their technique, but do not yet feel ready to take the step into intermediate level classes.
Classes

At this level, we work with students who already have a base: they know certain movement principles and have notions of coordination, weight, floorwork, and musicality. From there, the objective is to consolidate those foundations, deepen the understanding of contemporary language, and begin to introduce new tools, dynamics, and nuances that allow them to evolve with greater confidence.

It is not a class to start from zero, but it is not designed for those who already move comfortably at more advanced levels either. It is the ideal space to continue growing, gain confidence, and prepare both body and mind to take the next step in their training.

Marçal O’callaghan
His work combines trickery, fluidity, and technique, exploring the possibilities of movement. With experience as a teacher and performer, he aims to make each class a space for learning, exploration, and connection with the body.

For management reasons, no refunds are made for either single classes or monthly passes.

There is only the option to recover one class or to keep a full monthly pass in case of injury or illness. For this, it is essential to notify at least 24 hours in advance and present a valid medical certificate that proves the injury, illness, or condition that prevented attendance to class.

Without the presentation of a medical certificate, no refunds will be made, and class recovery or preservation of the monthly pass will not be allowed under any circumstances.
In the case of having to recover a single class, this must be done within a maximum period of one calendar month from the date of absence. The recovery can be done by attending one of the following classes:

  • Contemporary Intermediate — Tuesday at 12:00
  • Technical Foundation — Friday at 11:00

In the case that, due to an injury or illness that you have been able to prove with a medical certificate, you have not been able to use any class from your monthly pass, said pass will not be lost, but it will not be refunded either. The pass will be kept and may be used once you receive medical discharge, exclusively for the same discipline corresponding to the original pass.

Marina Recio

I’m absolutely delighted. The choreography is challenging, while maintaining its own style and essence. It’s respectful of every body, offering intermediate or advanced movement options depending on how you feel.

Dani

I’ve been coming almost every Friday for the past two years, and it’s one of the best parts of the week, with a great atmosphere in class and learning something new every time I go. I couldn’t love the classes more 🙂

Viviana Gamboa

I love Andrea’s technical classes because, as a teacher, she focuses on each student, giving specific corrections and providing follow-up throughout the month. Because of this, I feel I can trust her as a great guide 🤍

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I feel lost if I don’t attend the first day when a new choreography is taught in the Lyrical class?

No. You can attend the class any Friday without any problem.

The choreographies are always explained from the beginning in each session, so it is not necessary to have attended previous classes in order to follow the class normally.

No. Technical Foundation classes are designed to be worked on with continuity, as this is the way in which real technical progress can be appreciated.

However, if you have never taken this class before, you can come and try one session for €17*.

*You can find more information in the Technical Foundation section of the website.

No. If you have never practiced contemporary dance, we recommend starting with the Contemporary Absolute Beginner Training.

This training takes place two or three times during the course and has a duration of four months, and is specifically designed for people who are starting from zero.

It is not necessary to be a professional dancer.

The Pro Program has a professional approach and is aimed at students with an advanced level or, at minimum, an intermediate level, so it is not suitable for people who have never danced.

When we refer to “professional,” we are mainly referring to the approach, the environment, and the objective of the classes, but it is not essential to work professionally in dance or to have an extremely high level in order to participate.

The Pro Program Junior is designed for students aged 12 and above.

If you are younger than that but are interested in participating, you can contact our team so that we can evaluate your specific case. Depending on the level and abilities of the student, the possibility of making an exception could be considered.

Contemporary
It is recommended to wear long pants and a short- or long-sleeved t-shirt. It is preferable to avoid tank tops, open-back tops, and shorts, especially for people who are starting in this style.

Technical Foundation
It is recommended to wear clothing that is as fitted as possible, as it allows the teacher to better observe body alignment and provide more precise technical corrections.

Lyrical
You can wear whatever clothing you feel most comfortable in for dancing.

No. All the material necessary for the class is provided by the center itself.

Competition groups are aimed at dancers with an intermediate or advanced level.

In order to access them, it is necessary to complete a prior audition, with the objective of evaluating whether the student’s level matches the group’s requirements.

For management reasons, no refunds are made for either single classes or monthly passes.

Classes can only be recovered in case of injury or illness, provided that prior notice is given and a medical certificate is presented.

If recovery is possible, the class must be completed within a maximum period of one calendar month.

At Elevate, we mainly offer classes aimed at intermediate and advanced levels, but we also have options designed for people who are starting or who want to strengthen their technical base.

Among these are Technical Foundation, which is open to all levels, as well as the Contemporary Absolute Beginner Training, where we teach contemporary from zero.

If you still have doubts about which class could best suit your level or experience, do not hesitate to contact our team and we will be happy to guide you.

Your spot is fully reserved once the payment for the class, training, or corresponding pass has been completed.
